Open House on Town Plan Postponed to Later Date: March 8, 2010

The public open house that was tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 at the Mount Peyton Hotel (Newfoundland Room), 6-9pm has been postponed to a later date. At this Open House, the Draft Town Plan Integrated Community Sustainability Plan will be presented to the public for feedback prior to finalizing.

The Town of Grand Falls-Windsor is reviewing and updating our current Municipal Plan with a new Town Plan (ICSP). Town staff have been working with Tract Consulting Inc. who have been retained to prepare the Plan. Council has been apprised on the process and has approved the integrated sustainability approach that the plan embraces. This means that Grand Falls-Windsor can look forward to actively participating in the planning and development of a new Town Plan ICSP; a plan that must re-define our goals, vision, and strategic direction for the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor in the future.

Open House On High Street Redevelopment Project Thursday, March 4th, 7:30pm

The Town of Grand Falls-Windsor is hosting an Open House on Thursday evening, March 4^th, at 7:30pm in the Newfoundland Room of the Mount Peyton Hotel. Tract Consulting Inc of St. John’s will unveil drawings of proposed improvements to the High Street area of town. This meeting is open to all residents and business owners in Grand Falls-Windsor.

The Town of Grand Falls-Windsor is very excited about this project and is encouraged by the approximately $4 million investment by the Provincial, Federal and Municipal governments.

No registration is required for this Open House and the Town encourages its residents to attend.

Town hosting Aquaculture Business Session on May 5th

The Town of Grand Falls-Windsor, in partnership with the Coast of Bays Corporation, presents “Aquaculture Business Partnership Session 2010”.  This is a great opportunity for local businesses to develop business relationships with businesses on the South Coast of the Province that are working in the Aquaculture sector and to identify new market opportunities.

This session will take place on Wednesday, May 5^th from 12 noon to 3pm at the Mount Peyton Hotel. Lunch will be served at 12 noon followed by presentations from various aquaculture businesses, identifying the goods and services these companies provide or require.
