Recreation
Take a walk along the Corduroy Brook Nature Trail; enjoy the peaceful beauty of Church Road Park and feed the ducks; see the Atlantic Salmon as they migrate upstream at the Salmonid Interpretation Centre; or experience the electricity that seems to fill the air as world class entertainment hits the stage at Centennial Field for the annual Exploits Valley Salmon Festival. This is just a taste of what Grand Falls-Windsor has to offer visitors and residents.
When it comes to recreational, social and business facilities Grand Falls-Windsor has it all. Grand Falls-Windsor is home to two arenas, tennis courts, lighted baseball field, 5 national sized softball fields, soccer field and much more. The Exploits Valley Minor Hockey Association boast a dedicated volunteer base that offers a first rate minor hockey system. This town is equipped with great hiking trails, cross country ski trails and surrounding countryside that is a snowmobiler’s dream. We are home to the Frances M. Nichols Community Centre (YMCA), golf course, bowling alley, curling club, parks and playgrounds. The town also has the largest concert site in Newfoundland at Centennial Park and boasts the Forestry Capital Pavilion, the only permanent outdoor stage east of Montreal.
Community spirit, natural beauty and friendly people are just several reasons why Chatelaine magazine named Grand Falls-Windsor as one of the top places to live in North America.
