Adult Learning
Adult basic education (ABE) is a program that is of high school equivalency and is designed for adults who did not complete high school or who wish to upgrade their credentials in one or more subjects.

The College of the North Atlantic
Adult Basic Education is offered in the context of the College’s Access to Training and Careers (ATC) delivery model. Students are provided with an opportunity to complete a Career Development Portfolio and to prepare a Personal Career Plan. An advising process is used to support students throughout their participation in this program.
Keyin College
This program can be a stepping-stone for those interested in pursuing post-secondary education. The Adult Basic Education program, Levels II & III offers assistance to adult students who would like to improve their reading, writing and math skills to help them obtain a grade 12 equivalency diploma. This will help boost a student's self-confidence and may even help the student find a job more easily

Housing for Students

Targeted Wage Subsidy Program-Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC)- The Targeted Wage Subsidy Program enables employers to hire individuals who face barriers to employment by offering temporary wage subsidies and assists individuals experiencing difficulty in finding work to benefit from on-the-job work experience.

JCP (Job Creation Partnership)-Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC)- The Job Creation Partnerships employment benefit is a program designed to support projects developed by sponsors that create jobs that will provide eligible participants with opportunities to maintain or enhance job skills. At the end of their participation, clients will have recent work experience to add to their resumes and this, together with the networking which participants are able to do while on a project increases their chances of successfully finding long-tem employment.
